ROCK SOLID BECOMES ONE OF THE FINALISTS IN THE 2008 AWARDS OF THE MICROSOFT PARTNERS PROGRAM OF LATIN AMERICA

July 2008 / San Juan, PR

Microsoft announced that the puertorican companies AtlasBits and Rock Solid Technologies, technology partners of the enterprise in Puerto Rico, were chosen as finalist in the 2008 Awards of the Regional Partners Program in Latin America.

The Awards of the Microsoft’s Partners Program give recognition to the Microsoft’s Partners that have developed and distributed exceptional solutions based on Microsoft’s platform during the past year; in 15 different categories. This year the participation had a total of 239 subcriptions from Latin America. The puertorican company Rock Solid Technologies was chosen as finalist and will go to the final face in the competition.

Rock Solid nominated the solution Respond®, its vertical target market are the municipalities and other governmental agencies, specifically the Service to the Citizens or Citizen Attention.

“The level of quality of the solutions and services offered our partners in Latin America is impressive. We are excited to celebrate with our friends of Rock Solid Technologies about their successes and recognitions,” commented Roberto Pederzoli, Strategic Partners Director of Microsoft Latin America.

Microsoft’s Partner Program helped the partners to create successful companies based on Microsoft’s technologies offering a wide variety of resources including formation, technology support, products and opportunities of networking with their colleges.

The president of the IAMCP (International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners) Angel Pérez, how is also General Manager of Rock Solid Technologies, Inc. commented: “We are very proud to say that two puertorican companies had been selected as finalist in a  worldwide competence and we are thankful for the recognition. This type of competence is good, because it allow us to show the trace that puertoricans are leaving in the technology industry”.

STUDENTS RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIP FROM A LOCAL COMPANY

July 2008 / Mayagüez, PR

The puertorican company Rock Solid Technologies, Inc., grant scholarships to three students from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, whom also are part of the teamwork for the summer.

The youngster that received the scholarship of $4,000 each one ($1,500 for personal expenses) were: Jonathan Luna, from the Computer Engineering Department; Fernando Figueroa, from the Information System Department in the Business Administration Faculty; and Yaritza Figueroa, from Accounting Department in Business Administration.

The engineer Angel L. Pérez, general manager of Rock Solid Technologies, Inc., gave the scholarship in a ceremony yesterday, in the Dean’s office at the campus, Jorge Iván Vélez Arocho. “For the first time the, since we started the program, we awarded a scholarship in the Accounting Department. Yaritza was selected for being an outstanding student, with dedication and responsible. Also, Jonathan and Fernando for their technical capacity and dedication, said Pérez, Mayagüez alumni.

Explained in written communication that the scholarship’s presentation- for sevenths consecutive year- reaffirms the interest and compromise that has this company to keep the human capital in Puerto Rico and contribute to the economic development in the Island.

In addition, the dean Vélez Arocho, highlighted the relevance that companies turned to the University to offers the students this kind of opportunities. “We valued enormously the strategic partners that have been with our institution for long term and Rock Solid for been this type of company. We appreciate the support they have gave to the Colegio and the investment in this youngsters; added Vélez Arrocho, dean in the RUM.

As part of the selection process, the students were interviewed by the management team of Rock Solid Technologies, dedicated to the development and implementation of applications, and consulting of information systems.

ROCK SOLID'S TECHNO TOUR MUNICIPAL 2008 ENDED IN THE NORTH REGION OF PUERTO RICO

June 2008 / Dorado, PR

Rock Solid Technologies, Inc. (RST) along with the sponsorship of Microsoft Caribbean, celebrated on June 19, in the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar Beach & Golf Resort, the fourth and last event of the regional tour, Techno Tour Municipal 2008. It purpose is to inform key persons in the municipalities about the technological and innovative solutions of Microsoft Dynamics™, for the management and administration of efficient municipalities in the Island.

During the morning, members of Rock Solid Technologies, presented two of the solutions for the Finance and Citizen Service Departments in the municipalities. Both were presented with the objectives of providing technological alternatives that allow municipalities to become more responsive, become more cost-effectives in their processes, diminish operational expenses, and offer efficient and quality services to their citizens.

Mr. Julio Acevedo, Finance Director of the Municipality of Coamo, provided his testimony about the benefits and necessities covered by the technological solutions that Rock Solid Technologies developed to the government sector of Puerto Rico. Mr. Acevedo's participation was key for the success of this event, because it helped people to felt free to make comments regarding their daily experiences at work. Later, two raffles took place, were the assistants had the opportunity to participate.

The event was a total success thanks to the participation of the Finance Director of the Municipality of Coamo, the directors and representatives of the following municipalities: Corozal, Dorado, Florida, Hatillo, Manatí, Morovis, Naranjito, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, and Vega Alta.

The tour of events helped Rock Solid Technologies, Inc. to reach approximately the 60% of the municipalities with a total attendance of over 100 persons.

MICROSOFT AND THE "CONSEJO VECINAL PRO DESARROLLO DE LA PENINSULA DE CANTERA" JOIN FORCES FOR GIVING TECHNOLOGY TO THIS COMMUNITY

May 2008 / San Juan, PR

As part of their alliance, Microsoft Caribbean and the “Consejo Vecinal Pro Desarrollo Península de Cantera” celebrated the opening of a Cyber Café, with the purpose of providing technology to the students of the public school Manuel Elzaburu y Vizcarrondo and to the 10,000 residents of this community through the project “Líderes para el Mundo” (World Leaders).

Supported by Microsoft with a grant of $230,000, ($80,000 in cash for the "Potencial Ilimitados" program (Unlimited Potential Program) and $15,000 for the software), the project “Líderes del Mundo” through the Cyber Cafe will emphasize the development of academic and professional skills in the youngsters throughout the use of technological tools like browsing the web and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

The Project “Lideres para el Mundo: Empresarios de su vida (World Leaders: Life entrepreneurs) is a conscientiously and supportive project developed with the goal of impacting 50 students of the Intermediate School Manuel Elzaburu and Vizcarrondo in Cantera and their families. Its main purpose is to enforce the youngsters as citizens and leaders throughout the education and no traditional areas; such as academic and technological skills, leadership, economic, emotional and social development, recreation, culture, civic-mindedness, voluntarism, and others.

The Cyber Cafe has 17 computers with Internet access and several softwares. It will also become as a place for communitarian investment, because it provides technological assessments for the elderly and community leaders. In June some technological workshops for kids, youngsters and adults in the community will be given. This will be possible thanks to the support of two Microsoft’s partners, Rock Solid Technologies, and Nagnoi. They will offer basic computer courses for the participants.

Ambrose Ramsahai, general manager of Microsoft in Puerto Rico, added that the close relationship Microsoft have with their partners enables their integration in social responsibility projects to help minimized the digital gap and create more impact in the community of Cantera.

Microsoft’s compromise with the technological development of the community Cantera is part of the program “Potencial Ilimitado” (Unlimited Potential), intended to enrich and fortify the educative experience of puertorican youngsters, from communities economically marginalized, through the access of information technology resources. With this Cyber Cafe they add 21 projects distributed by through the Island from Guaynabo to Ponce, and from Humacao to Mayagüez, including Vieques and Culebra.

THE ALZHEIMER COMMITEE RECOGNIZES ROCK SOLID'S COLLABORATION

Rock Solid Technologies, Inc. is acknowledged for the cooperation and dedication as member of the Alzheimer Committe in Puerto RIco. Rosa Pérez Perdomo, Health Secretary, awarded the certificate to Rock Solid. Recently, the company developed a software, in the Alzheimer Centre, that facilitates the register of suspicios cases.

MICROSOFT PARTNERS JOIN 'YO LIMPIO A PUERTO RICO' TO CELEBRATE EARTH MONTH BY CLEANING UP THE LAGUNA TORTUGUERO NATURAL RESERVE

April 2008 / Vega Baja, PR

The International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners – Puerto Rico Chapter (IAMCP PR), joined local environmental education organization, Yo Limpio a Puerto Rico (YLPR), to celebrate Earth Month by cleaning up the Laguna Tortuguero Natural Reserve during this weekend. YLPR is a non-profit organization trying to change the polluting habits and the abuse of natural resources, through lectures and educational events addressed to students and adults, cleaning up beaches and rivers, reforestation activities, picking up and recycling, identification and transformation of clandestine waste disposal.

The effort included team members from several Microsoft partners such as Nagnoi, DevNet Systems, IBS and Rock Solid Technologies, and Yo Limpio a Puerto Rico staff. “Over a thousand pounds of trash was collected” said IAMCP’s local president Eng. Angel L. Pérez.

It is exciting to work together with such distinguished group of technology companies that have seen how they can contribute for a better environment,” said Mr. Ignacio Barsotelli, President of Yo Limpio a Puerto Rico. Also, children and college youngsters were part of the group of voluntaries.  He later added "Our mission is to educate, mobilize and act and by joining efforts with other organizations we can achieve our goals to the fullest potential”.

Giving youth an orientation is vital, as well as the support and cooperation given by Government Agencies; endorsements and economical help of private enterprises; the participation of artists and community involvement.

ROCK SOLID TECHNOLOGIES HAS A NEW PARTNER !

Rock Solid Technologies just partnered with INFONIZER, a provider of IT solutions for the automobile dealer industry. This partnership will allow Rock Solid to sell and implement INFONIZER’s Dealer Management System (DMS) in the entire Caribbean region.

Infonizer DMS is an ERP system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX.  Specifically developed for the automotive industry, this system is used daily by thousands of businesses all over the world. In the Caribbean, Rock Solid Technologies has already successfully signed up their first pilot customer, a large distributor and retailer of cars in the region. “Rock Solid is excited about our partnership with Infonizer and the opportunity to deliver this innovative DMS to dealers in the Caribbean.
