ROCK SOLID TECHNOLOGIES GRANTS SCHOLARSHIP TO OUTSTANDING STUDENTS May 2007 / Mayagüez, PR
For six consecutive years, Rock Solid Technologies have recognized outstanding students of Puerto Rico the "Rock Solid Scholarship". This year the winners were Luis A. Luciano Figueroa and Edgardo J. Ramos Rodriguez, students of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. These future engineers are full time students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, majoring in Software Development. The prize was announced in an activity celebrated at the university and consists of $1,500 and the opportunity to work during the summer with the company. Rock Solid Technologies is an Information Technology organization, recognized in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean for the development of software solutions and consulting services. In order to participate, both young men had to fulfill the following requirements: to be students with a general average of 3.00 or above, completing studies in Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Science. As part of the process they were also required to complete an application and present a copy of their résumé, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Additionally, the students wrote an essay in which they exposed the reasons of why they should to be selected, their strengths and weaknesses, and provided suggestions to help develop the economy of Puerto Rico. As the last stage of the selection process, both students were interviewed by Rock Solid Technologies top executives.
