MICROSOFT PARTNERS JOIN 'YO LIMPIO A PUERTO RICO' TO CELEBRATE EARTH MONTH BY CLEANING UP THE LAGUNA TORTUGUERO NATURAL RESERVE

The International Association of Microsoft Certified Partners - Puerto Rico Chapter (IAMCP PR), joined local environmental education organization, Yo Limpio a Puerto Rico (YLPR), to celebrate Earth Month by cleaning up the Laguna Tortuguero Natural Reserve during this weekend. YLPR is a non-profit organization trying to change the polluting habits and the abuse of natural resources, through lectures and educational events addressed to students and adults, cleaning up beaches and rivers, reforestation activities, picking up and recycling, identification and transformation of clandestine waste disposal.

The effort included team members from several Microsoft partners such as Nagnoi, DevNet Systems, IBS and Rock Solid Technologies, and Yo Limpio a Puerto Rico staff. "Over a thousand pounds of trash was collected" said IAMCP's local president Eng. Angel L. Pérez.

"It is exciting to work together with such distinguished group of technology companies that have seen how they can contribute for a better environment," said Mr. Ignacio Barsotelli, President of Yo Limpio a Puerto Rico. Also, children and college youngsters were part of the group of voluntaries. He later added "Our mission is to educate, mobilize and act and by joining efforts with other organizations we can achieve our goals to the fullest potential".

Giving youth an orientation is vital, as well as the support and cooperation given by Government Agencies; endorsements and economical help of private enterprises; the participation of artists and community involvement.
