For the fourth consecutive year the IAMCP Puerto Rico promotes environmental awareness and helps conserve our Natural Resource of La Laguna Tortuguero.Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, April 16, 2011 – Keeping its traditional annual commitment with the environment the International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners, Chapter of Puerto Rico (PR IAMCP) led the fourth cleaning of the Laguna Tortuguero Natural Reserve in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. In order to foster environmental awareness among our community by supporting our ecological system and bring a message of solidarity during Earth Month several Microsoft partners, such as Invid, KPG, xRM Group, Infocorp and Rock Solid Technologies, joined forces to environmental initiative. . "In addition to the partners, we thank the volunteers from Microsoft that gave us a hand in this initiative” said the President of IAMCP PR, Eng. Alberto Lugo. The respect and commitment to the Island was demonstrated with the participation of this group of professionals who devoted an entire Saturday to remove garbage from the Natural Reserve. Many volunteers made this initiative a family activity, where families came together to support the cause. "Thanks to our efforts in the past four years, the amount of trash has been substantially reduced to a 50% compared to last year" added the event organizer, Eng. Ángel L. Pérez. The vounteers were divided into groups and areas to collect a greatest amount of waste possible. With the necessary equipment (gloves and bags) all the volunteers hada rewarding experience conserving one of Puerto Rico’s Natural Reserve with the more wildlife on our island.
